PART OF A PLATE

We launched a match funding promotion, working with Food in Community (FIC) to fund some suppers for locals who are going through a tough time over the festive season. We thought it would take a couple of weeks to raise the money to match fund 3 families of 4 a 3 course meal plus drinks, but YOU did it in a week! We were going to promote it in this newsletter, but now we can just say thank you instead. In short we put a ‘dish’ on the menu called ‘PART OF A PLATE’ for £2 and diners had an option to pop it on their bill and the response was incredible!

Food in Community are an amazing non-for-profit community interest company with a fab bunch of volunteers that aim to reduce food waste, poverty and social isolation by collecting fresh, surplus produce and redistributing to charities, organisations and individuals in need across South Devon. It’s horrid having money pressures at any time of the year, but over Christmas and with the last 18 months we’ve had we’re so happy, with your help, to be able to bring a bit of cheer to people in our community by providing a night out, just something normal and fun.
